报告人简介:Professor Stéphane P.A. Bordas works at Institute of Computational Engineering, University of Luxembourg. His areas of expertise are: Computational mechanics with an emphasis on moving discontinuities (mechanics of fracture, biofilm, etc.), Method development (enriched/extended finite elements, meshfree methods, smooth strain finite elements), Evolving discontinuities (level set methods, partition of unity enrichment), Academic research/industrial applications: bridging the gap (porting novel methods to industrial codes, real-world applications of computational mechanics and novel method development). He has published over two hundred and thirty refereed publications, most of them in Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering and Computational Mechanics. Prof. Stéphane is also an editor of the editorial board of the journal such as Computers and Structures and Advances in Engineering Software. He is highly cited researcher in the field of Computer Science, and he is also the top reviewers for Computer Science, Engineering and Materials Science. Professor Stéphane P.A. Bordas has published more?than?500?papers and been cited more than?20000?times.

报告摘要:Data scarcity is a major challenge in certain fields that rely on data-driven modeling and AI, especially when system-specific data is challenging to acquire. We focus in this talk on surgical simulation, wind energy harvesting, and computational archaeology. In these fields, it is essential to harvest specific data: patient-specific data in surgical simulation, environment-specific data in wind energy harvesting, and archaeological site-specific data in computational archaeology. To address the issue of data scarcity, real-time simulations can rely on pre-training on generic representations that can be updated as actual, system-specific data is acquired. The real-time updating of this data allows for a more accurate and patient-specific simulation.
